In 1999, the Johanson Family made our first pilgrimage to an alpaca farm. It was love at first sight. Within a few days of that visit, Brookhollow Farm bought our first four alpacas and our foray into alpaca farming had begun. This number has grown exponentially to a herd size of approximately 130, featuring some of the finest alpacas in the country. Brookhollow’s purchases of Snowmass Invincible, Nova and Midnight Magic, whose world class genetics make them top-of-the-line among elite herdsires, brought national recognition to our farm. We further enhanced our breeding stock by purchasing some of the finest females in the country. Their crias are proving the wisdom of that decision. Johanson Family is justifiably proud of our high class herd and welcomes visitors to meet Brookhollow's high society girls and their equally superb crias. Brookhollow Farm's commitment to furthering the alpaca lifestyle is evidenced by the many events that take place during the year. We believe that sharing knowledge of all the aspects of alpaca breeding and raising is an important element in fostering the growth of this dynamic industry. Our calendar is filled with events to encourage visitors both young and old. Brookhollow Farm hosts a Day of Shearing in mid-spring when alpacas from various farms are brought to Brookhollow for an incomparable shearing experience. Many able bodies are on hand to ease the stress of shearing for these alpacas and their owners. On-lookers are welcome and often put to work as well. Nothing gives us greater pleasure than to introduce potential breeders to the love of alpacas. All are welcome to visit the beauty and serenity that is Brookhollow Farm. Make it a point to ask to see our stunning crias when you visit this Spring! They will be show stoppers, we can assure you.
